Opera has launched its new updated version of web browser 10.50 which they claim to be the fastest browser on earth.

Opera is quite popular among web surfers as quite light and friendly browser. Some key features such as adjusting size, snapshot, specifying reload time, fast caching have made it quite handy to use. There are some others such as Firefox and the recent Google chrome and the very common Internet Explorer. Google chrome has proved its efficiency and is quite lightweight where as Mozilla Firefox is fully loaded and heavy. Let’s see how this new version Opera 10.50 proves what it claims it to be… Fastest Web Browser!

Some new features are as follows:-
Better integration with the Windows operating system
• Windows 7:
o Aero Glass
o Aero Peek
o Jump Lists
Opera Carakan JavaScript engine
• Reduced memory usage
Opera “O” tab and menu
• The new Opera “O” tab and its associated menu (located on the left side of the Opera Tab bar) replaces the traditional Opera Menu bar. This increases vertical space in the Opera desktop window, and centralizes frequently used features and tools in one, convenient location.
• Can be replaced with traditional menu.

Opera Presto 2.5 rendering engine
• CSS
• HTML
• SVG
Opera Vega graphics library
Opera Widgets for Desktop
• Although they run outside the browser, Opera Widgets have been treated as entities inside the browser in many respects. The new Opera Widgets for Desktop ends this dependency on the browser and moves Opera Widgets to the next level: that of first-class applications.
Private browsing
Web Storage
Web SQL Database

An oversight from Opera though is the lack of simultaneous launch of versions for Mac and Linux machines, which the company says are “coming soon.” Opera 10.5 is now available for download.
